Sometimes it is enough simply to roll the powerfully evocative and tantalising names of certain appellations around one’s mouth, for the palate to respond with a shiver.
What pleasure in itself to greedily recite names redolent of promises of flavour and freshness, of generosity and fullness.

  MONTRAVEL Our wine growers

Montravel
Sémillon, Muscadelle and, particularly Sauvignon, are the three grape varieties which make up Montravel AOC wines. These dry whites are aromatic and well-structured.

Haut Montravel
Haut Montravel AOC wines are elegant, sophisticated and very concentrated. The harvest of partially raisined, or dried and shrivelled, grapes gives this wine its sweetness. Haut Montravel wines can apply for the ‘liquoreux’ (complex, rich sweet wines) denomination if the grapes have been allowed to develop Noble Rot instead of drying on the vines (as can Saussignac AOC wines).

Côtes de Montravel
Côtes de Montravel sweet white wines have complex aromas dominated by floral notes.

Montravel Red
Montravel wines must be blended exclusively from the following grape varieties :
Merlot: representing at least 50%
Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Franc
Cot
Planting density must attain a minimum of 5000plants/ha with a maximum 2m separation between the rows and 1m between the plants.
Montravel red wines require a minimum maturation period of 15 months.
AOC approval is only given once the wine is bottled in a personalized bottle engraved with the words IN MONTE REVELATIONEM
