Domaine Les Graves, a
ten-hectare estate, is situated at Gageac Rouillac, south-west
of Bergerac (in the ‘Périgord Pourpre’) on the edges of the
Bergerac and Bordeaux appellations, near the vineyards of
Monbazillac, St Emilion and Pomerol.
In late 1991, following the birth of our daughter, Elodie, my
husband and myself decided to take over the vineyard, which had
originally belonged to my grandparents, from my uncles who had
reached retirement age.
We sold our house in order to be able to renovate the family
property and moved in in July 93 with the aim of being able to
run the vineyard more effectively from this base.
Today the farm is made up of 10 ha of vines, 5 ha of cereals and
2 ha of fields occupied by a few sheep and lambs.
Our last stint of renovation work enabled us to open a B+B room
to accommodate friends and visitors.
