St Alvère in the Périgord :
the first truffle market
in France to have gone
on-line !

The vineyard has south-southwestern exposure. It benefits from the southwestern climate, the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the Dordogne River. Château les Gérales works about 15 hectares of vines in the Bergerac and Monbazillac appellations.

The red grape varieties are mostly Merlot, along with Cabernet franc.
The white grape varieties are a combination, mostly Sémillon and partly Sauvignon,
The soil is clay-limestone.
It is cultivated at a density of about 5000 plants per hectare.
Growing method: Alternating rows of cultivated vines and ground cover, excess leaves are removed at the end of the year to expose the grapes further.
