The Estate
In 1999 Christine Borgers, a Belgian woman, bought the Chateau du Haut
Pezaud vineyard in Monbazillac, which has just over nine hectares of
vines. Loving good wine and especially liquoreux, her choice was
quickly focused on a wine estate located in the heart of the
appellation and on the hills of Monbazillac, 1.5 km from the Château
of Monbazillac and the village.
The Wines
Semillon, grey Sauvignon and Muscadelle are the blend for dry
Bergerac, Côtes de Bergerac Moelleux and Monbazillac. Some wines are
aged in oak barrels.
Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are used to create
Bergerac red, fruity or in oak casks, as well as Bergerac Rosé.
The wines are regularly cited in various wine guides.
