Tasting:
Intense gold colour, nose has hints of candied fruit. Lasting
flavour, produced from partially dried grapes. Ready to drink
starting in 2006. Keeps very well.
We employ
the following grape varieties :
RED : 48 % Merlot, 2 % Malbec, 25% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.
We also produce Côtes de Bergerac, one cuvée of which is
oak-aged. These wines all begin to open after two years in
bottle and reach their peak at 6 to 12 years old depending on
the vintage.
WHITE : 60% Sémillon, 20% Sauvignon, 20% Muscadelle. Sémillon
is the grape best suited to the development of Botrytis
Cinerea. Sauvignon contributes elegance and the bouquet while
Muscadelle adds a very marked fragrance.
Monbazillac is harvested in successive, selective tries, or
passages, and yields are kept intentionally low.
