St Alvère in the Périgord :
the first truffle market
in France to have gone
on-line !

For over 40 years, Armand Vidal, already owner of the excellent Château Treuil de Nailhac, has been developing and expanding the 70-hectare estate which is capable of producing a total of 350,000 bottles of wine.
MONBAZILLAC, 100km inland from Bordeaux, benefits from an ocean climate with constant, high temperatures during the vine’s vegetation period. In autumn, thanks to the soil and climate (misty mornings and sun in the afternoons), noble rot, or BOTRYTIS CINEREA, develops on the grapes and Monbazillac’s luscious, sweet ‘liquoreux’ wine - « Périgord’s Gold » - is the result.

Château La Borderie’s Monbazillac breathes gently in oak casks for 18 months. The best cuvées spend 10 months in new oak barrels encouraging notes of honey and preserved, candied citrus fruit to mellow gently in the confines of the wood.
The wines are at their peak between 10 and 16 years of age depending on the vintage.
