St Alvère in the Périgord :
the first truffle market
in France to have gone
on-line !

Version Française

The Grande Borie Vineyard was founded in 1925 by M. Fontanet Lafon, Senior. The property only produced sweet white wines and two hectares of the original vines still exist.
In 1960,
his son, M. René Lafon (current partner) took over the property. He started planting red grape varieties and replanted some of the parcels of white which are still used today.
In 1988,
M. Claude Lafaye (son-in-law and current manager) took over management of the 13 hectare property.
In 1989
he bought 7 hectares of Sémillon (white) which was planted in the 1950s and which still produces today.
In 1994,
he bought 10 hectares of vines including 6 of Sémillon dating from the 1950s and 4 of 15-year-old red.
