The town of Saint Agne is located in the Lalinde district in Dordogne, at the edge of the Bergerac district on the road CD 37 between Mouleydier and Verdon - Faux.
It has 391 inhabitants on a surface area of 555 hectares.

The town’s name in Occitan is Sent Ànhan : Sanctus Anianus (Saint Aignan).

In the 11th century, Saint Agne was a parish under the patronage of Saint-Aignan, bishop of Orléans.
