The
architectural heritage around Sigoulès is full of many small
churches that can be visited (Monbos,
Puyguilhem, Cunèges,
Pomport ...).
The
Lestignac church in Sigoulès is
included in the supplementary inventory of historic buildings
(Romanesque and Gothic art, carved altar from the 17th century).
A number of maintained and marked hiking trails criss-cross the
town and allow access to the surrounding communities.
If you use them, you might pass in front of a fountain or a
dovecote...but above all, you have the opportunity to appreciate
the diversity of the surrounding landscapes and the play of
light on the countryside, depending on the time of day of your
discovery walk.
A guide of the walking tours is available at

On the
Festive Side
The Sigoulès wine fair (the Wine Fair Committee) has opened
on the third weekend of July since 1975, to promote our region.
Alternating with the city of Bergerac, this fair hosts the show
of regional wines of the Bergerac area every other year.
Thousands of visitors criss-cross the streets of the village in
search of winemakers, gastronomy, crafts and restaurateurs
during these two days, and enjoy the daytime entertainment and
evening shows.
This fair, with no entry fee, is the flagship event of our
district, where conviviality and good humour prevail.
The aillet
omelette on May 1 (Festival Committee) brings together many
trout fishers (for a competition) and fans of this traditional
omelette. (Translator’s note: aillet is a kind of garlic.)
The bric-a-brac sale (Festival Committee) in early June,
brings together over 80 exhibitors. On-site catering.
The Music Festival (Festival Committee) offers a relaxing
evening.
Various musical groups to discover, and time for an outdoor meal.
The gourmet markets (Festival Committee), Friday evenings in
July and August, overrun the large village square, where the
smells and flavours mingle for the pleasure of those who-love
good times, and you are more numerous every year. A musical
accompaniment gives rhythm to the evening.
The wine harvest festival (Tourist Centre and "The Cousteau"
school group) has become a tradition. It is held the 1st weekend
of October. Night time harvest and village torchlight procession
at the Lycée du Cluzeau. Regional food on site.
