The church is the village’s oldest building. Tradition accords its construction to the 12th century monks of the village priory.
The Campanile-style wall-belfry is more recent (18th century).

The GR6 registered hiking trail between Bergerac and St Foy la Grande crosses the south of the commune in two places (‘Gabastou’ and ‘La Malevieille’).

 

The Santiago de Compestella pilgrim route, via Vézelay, crosses the commune from north to south, from ‘La Cabane’ to the village of Monfaucon itself, and continues onwards towards Goise.
