Founded in
1270 by Alphonse de Poitiers,
Eymet was built around a large, central square which forms the
heart of the village.
Fifteenth and 16th century arcaded houses surround the
three-storied tower which is all that remains of the château.
Every Thursday morning Eymet holds a colourful, lively market
which is supplemented in July and August with a Sunday morning
market.
