A small,
rich heritage runs through the town: washing-places and
fountains recently given new value by a reconstruction project
managed by the Community of Communes, wells, ovens and pigeon
houses, St Jean de Bonneville church, an old tile factory in
St Avit, the Calendreaud bridge...
Note that the former King’s Forges are at Grosse Forge, and
that Pierre Loti lived at Valladoux Château.
Footpaths
will be marked out soon, within the scope of the departmental
plan for walking itineraries and hikes, connecting our local
richness to the neighbouring landscapes of Montpeyroux,
Montcaret or Vélines.
Of course, all this is possible only by the mobilization of a
rich and active associative fabric. Its volunteers are fully
committed to making our commune alive, culturally and
sportingly. We thank them heartily!
