A wide variety of events are on offer throughout the year.

'Mai des Arts'

'Mai des Arts' has gained a well-deserved respect over the years. Various events are organised throughout the month of May and artists of all kinds exhibit their work during this period.
This is the time to discover new painters and sculptors and enjoy street theatre, dances and theatre professional stage shows…

An eagerly awaited event is the " Artists Under the Skies" day - scheduled for the 3rd Sunday in May - during which professional and amateur artists exhibit together in the Historique centre of the town. The day provides a fantastic opportunity for the public to meet artists and discover their work in a highly convivial atmosphere.

Numerous events during the holiday season
To open the summer season, “Bodegas and Bandas Day”, is followed by the Music Festival, wednesday jazz evenings, Thursday classical music evenings, open air cinema, open air theatre, folklore with the Abeilles Bergeracoises, as well as sporting events such as the 14th July Regatta and the Triathlon…

”July/August Summer Retrospective”:
An exhibit of painting or sculpture focussing on a great contemporary artist or a collective of artists, St Jacques Presbytery

”First Flamenco Festival”

For two days, shows by professional companies, Andalusian balls, music recitals, authentic atmosphere with stands and food.

”My Beautiful Festival”
Franco-British cinema get-togethers of Bergerac and its citizens. During four days, Bergerac’s Large-Screen Cinema and various other places will have films, documentaries, concerts...

”Cyrano’s Tables”
Around July 14th, Bergerac becomes, for the space of a weekend, the departmental capital of Périgourdin gastronomy and wine. The historic centre of Bergerac are taken over by restaurants, caterers, ‘ferme auberges’ and wine-producers offering their wares to passers by.
Come dine in a festive atmosphere enlivened by free concerts.

Roxanne’s Table :
Every other year, in mid-August, it is Roxanne’s turn to set the table in the Place de la République in Bergerac. Five consecutive days of free concerts and gastronomic evenings unfold in a festive atmosphere.

The Bergerac Fair-Exhibition, organised every other year (even years) at the end of the holiday period, provides an opportunity to find out about the economic life of the town as well as its clubs, associations and activities. The fair is based at Piquecailloux, lasts for a week and has over 300 stands. A concert on evening is proposed.

Local Heritage Day: 3rd Friday of September  :
National Heritage Days are designed to emphasise the immense diversity and wealth of our local heritage and to remind the public of the essential role played by associations and various groups in preserving and valuing many of the sites. Talks and visits (both guided and non-guided).
