Heritage
The ruins of a château still guard the village from up high on
a rocky promontory overlooking the Dordogne. At their foot,
the picturesque village of Badefols sur Dordogne slopes
towards the river.
Higher up, along the many footpaths are stone-roofed, dry
stone cabins (‘bories’) which wine-producers used both as
shelter and for stocking their tools in the days when Badefols
was - as a few remaining vines go to show - a major
wine-producing region. |
