Several kilometres
away from Sigoulès, in the hamlet of Lestignac,
is a church which combines Romanesque and
Gothic styles. The defensive wall-belfry was
built with materials recuperated from the
Romanesque period and the flamboyant Gothic
portal is sixteenth-century. Inside is a
wooden, sculptured, seventeenth-century alter.
An other gothic
church situated in the
village of Sigoulès on the St Jacques de
Compostelle pilgrimage route.
In the chevet there is a stained glass
window depicting St Jacques de Compostelle.
The church has a wall-belfry. |
