A rectangular Romanesque keep, whose walls stand free of buttresses, sits high on a plateau dominating the right bank of the Dordogne River.

Built out of evenly-sized, regular stone it is 7.30m wide, 6m long and 15m high

The north wall harbours its solitary entrance.
