Origins
Built in the mid-sixteenth century, the chateau is situated in the heart of the prestigious Monbazillac vineyards.

What to See
Four large, round towers enclose the main building, and defensive machicolations and battlements contrast with the more elegant Renaissance elements of the chateau.
The chateau apartments house a
museum of vine and wine, of Périgourdin furniture, of the history of Protestantism and an exhibition of Périgord’s thousand and one castles. The old winery has been transformed into a restaurant and the famous Monbazillac wine can be tasted at the Visitor’s Centr
