What is a Seasonal Job?

Photo : Vins de Bergerac - SANDER CIVRB Seasonal employment is work that happens at the same time each year. This work is related to the seasons (example: farming, harvesting, the hotel and restaurant business ...) or general lifestyle (example: socio-cultural events for children).

Seasonal Jobs that Recruit

• Agricultural: agricultural workers, grape pickers
• Food industry: skilled workers, unskilled workers
• Tourism: servers, maître d’hôtel, managers, administrators and salespeople

Agricultural Social Mutual (MSA)
• Atout saisons :
A medico-social accompaniment is led by a social worker from the MSA. It makes it possible to identify and help solve social problems that hinder access to employment: child care, literacy, support for job search, health problems, mobility, financial difficulties, ...; and to support building a personal and professional project.
This accompaniment also makes it possible for employers, employees and professional organizations to connect with each other easily. This action is conducted in partnership with the South Perigord Maison de l'Emploi and job centre.

• Information Tools
Since 2000, the MSA’s social service, along with the association Rural Initiatives, has two information tools intended for seasonal agricultural workers and employers of workers in the department:

-The seasonal workers’ schedule, which presents the calendar of seasonal work and the main production sectors. It provides practical information and addresses of organizations for administrative procedures, job search, agricultural training, social protection, employment law, and information about daily life ...

-Seasonal workers’ Info-Bulletin is published twice a year. It provides news about the department in terms of employment, training, information about daily life, health and rights.
