Anne Fourrel de Frettes, Visual Artist

Background
After obtaining a Masters in Visual Arts at the University of Michel de Montaigne (Bordeaux 3), Anne Fourrel de Frettes undertook several further courses: a course in decorative techniques with a design consultancy firm and a course with a professional animal sculptor. She has also mounted several exhibitions, notably in galleries.

Activity
Anne Fourrel de Frettes teaches drawing, painting and sculpture to children and teenagers throughout the year in her workshop.
Also having a diploma ("BPJEPS") in Cultural Animation, she has chosen to work with different types of people in a variety of structures including nurseries, schools, hospitals, retirement homes and leisure centres. In these situations, she is responsible from A to Z for the conception, animation and coordination of her visual arts projects.
She is self-employed and has worked for the last few years with the John Bost Foundation particularly in the occupational therapy and socio-therapy departments ('SESIP'). She also gives art therapy workshops for the Dordogne branch of the national Alzheimer's Association.

Philosophy
The corner stone of Anne Fourrel de Frettes work in the field of visual arts is the representation of the human figure. Using a wide variety of materials including lead or coloured pencils, dry pastels, charcoal, clay and bronze, the artist creates solitary figures in movement. She pays particular attention to clothing and has a preference for 1950s fashion.
