Created on December 26, 1994, it is the union of the towns in the Monpazier District : Biron, Capdrot, Gaugeac, Lavalade, Lolme, Marsalès, Monpazier, Saint Avit Rivière, Saint Cassien, Saint Marcory, Saint Romain de Monpazier, Soulaures, Vergt de Biron
A large part of the territory is dominated by forest, the rest is made of grassland, cereal crops, cattle, plum orchards, strawberry farms, tobacco.
The departmental road D660 (Bergerac – Cahors) crosses the district.
The community has 2290 inhabitants* on a surface area of 14 458 hectares.
