The Association’s aims for the stretch of the Dordogne River from the Vézère to the Isle confluences, are :

• To contribute to the protection of the Dordogne River, its tributaries, canal, installations important to them and flora and fauna, and to develop the rural heritage surrounding the area.

• To promote the river’s heritage and the history of river transport.

• To promote the development of nautical, sporting, cultural and tourist activities linked to the river and river basin.

• To help with co-ordinating projects, particularly those concerning lakes and navigation, and to contribute to the co-ordination of the many different activities concerning the river and its tributaries.

• To encourage concerted discussion and reflection from all involved and to come up with solutions to the overall problems associated with the river.
