Rather than being based on economic
criteria, Musique-Espérance’s activities revolve around its
experience of using music as a bridge between the individual and
the community.
Classical music piano, violin and voice workshops in « sensitive
» neighbourhoods can help thwart self-perpetuating social
problems and a certain cultural dependence.
The aim of the workshops is to bring children, teenagers and
even adults into contact with an area of knowledge from which
they are usually totally excluded.
The teachers are young professional musicians working in a
humanitarian field with the aid of Musique-Espérance funding. |

The workshops are open to everyone
in the Bergerac area which means that people of all ages and all
backgrounds are brought together.
From many points of view, music provides lessons in humanity ;
it can build a road to a place where discussion takes over from
violence and to mutual recognition, participating thus in a
social transformation where each individual finds his or her
place.
Musique - Espérance also organises one-off events :
• Concerts in a private homes.
• Music courses.
• Concerts given by participants in the musical workshops. |
