ADSL and the Cadouin Community
of Communes: A global project in support of local activity
In order to energize the region, the Cadouin Community of
Communes’ elected officials favour cooperation among the actors.
The Cadouin Community of Communes develops many partnerships
with neighbouring communities and other institutional actors,
(for example, tourism, recreation centres, household waste
collection ...).
Economically, the willingness of
elected officials has been to work extensively with local
enterprises. For this, it turned to the chamber of trade. This
team has worked closely with local businesses, on issues of
economic leadership and development of individual businesses.
Local businesses, mobilized by collective action, decided to
create the Association of Development of Local Expertise - ADSL.
Roland Kupcic, a woodworker, is President of the association.
Mireille Lespinasse, butcher, is Treasurer. Patrick Schmitz,
manager of VFM Computers, is the Secretary.
The Development Project
Following a
regional diagnosis, elected officials and companies have
considered a program of actions. Individual and group actions
are present. These actions are supported by the State through
the FISAC (Intervention Funds for Services, Crafts and Trade)
and the Greater Bergerac Area, via the Leader.
2009 Actions
-Study on the consumption flow
The objective is to define the commercial area and to analyze
household consumption and business activity. This study will be
used by elected officials, or by companies wishing to expand
their business.
-Marketing Diagnosis
For businesses, the diagnosis made by a marketing professional
lets companies revitalize their offer by adapting to consumer
changes.
-Development of the Internet as a tool
Through the site
www.pays-de-bergerac.com, the
association wants to give all companies a window on the
Internet.
-Regional marketing
Companies want to work on their collective image. For this, they
are working on signs at the town’s entrance, as well as
promotional tools.
-Action study for group trade activities
Objective: Increase traffic at points of sale through group
action
-Local-knowledge fair
This annual event aims to enhance the diversity and quality of
local businesses’ expertise. The last fair highlighted the
catering industry. For this fair, Alain Bordes, professional
photographer, made a photographic report of local know-how.
