An authentic
medieval house with a
rich past, La Bonbonnière was the dwelling place of the Dordogne
river boatmen, and also that of Bergerac’s last washerwoman. La
Bonbonnière is situated on Mirpe Place, a public square with a
statue of Cyrano. Although it is in the heart of Bergerac’s old
town, this is a very calm place, two steps from the centre of
town, from the Dordogne river and its gabares (traditional
flat-bottom boats), from museums and shops. As a native of the
Périgord, I will help you become better acquainted with my
region, and love it. For breakfast, I offer home-made jam and
honey, as well as fruit from the garden.
