BERGERAC RED in oak cask

Cuvée Ulysse

Regional grape varieties 60% Cabernet Sauvignon
40% Merlot

Soil clay-limestone

Bottle Montravel Traditional
“In Monte Revelationem”
75 cl, 150cl

Maturation 12 months average in barrel
1/3 new casks

From the grand-father born during the 1st world war, emprisoned during the 2nd, the Vallette estate has still kept going and diversified their range to make this powerful wine.

Its blend is from a careful selection of grapes, a slow fermentation, and a year in barrel so as to get this refined complex wine.

It is a nice fruity wine and full bodied, coming for the major part, from the Cabernet Sauvignon.

To taste with the traditional confit of duck and its parsley potatoes, hoi sin style; also great with roast dinner and red or green curry.

* Wine to be opened a bit before the meal to reduce its keenness…

THE MONTRAVEL CARD

A new wine, an ancestral area…

Regional grape varieties 80% Merlot
20% Cabernet Sauvignon

Soil clay-limestone

Bottle Montravel Traditional
“In Monte Revelationem”
75 cl only

Maturation 15 months in barrel
1/3 new casks

The Vallette Family chose to blend so much Merlot to make it as fruity as possible.
Indeed we can feel ripe fruits and berries with a nice spicy-peppery taste.
We mature it for the minimum time necessary in barrel to allow it to express its authentic aspect.
Consequently, the Montravel red is a well structured, vigorous and generous wine. It is a great combination between the natural softness of the Merlot and the character of the Cabernet Sauvignon which contributes to the structure, rounded by the oak…This is a wine “not to miss”, with a lot of work put in it as you know now…

It will be great with red meat as game, beef, char grilled or in a sauce, garlic and parsley baked mushrooms and many other recipes. Will compliment amazingly strong cheeses as Pont l’Evêque, Brie and dry goat cheese.

* A wine full of surprises to drink in special occasions
