The
30-year old vineyard
is situated on a South, South-east facing chalk-clay hillside,
combining all the elements necessary to the production of an
excellent wine. The red and rosé wines are blended from Merlot,
Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. The white grape
varieties, Sémillon and Muscadelle was planted in spring
2003. The vinification uses traditional methods with vat elevage,
except in the case of a 100% Merlot cuvée whose elevage takes
place in oak barrels. This ‘cuvée’ represents approximately 3500
bottles.
The grapes are
harvested manually
until they are two years old and machine-harvested afterwards.
The harvesting machine is, however, a recent model which is
careful with the fruit and does not harm the plants.
