Who are we ?

St Alvère in the Périgord :
the first truffle market
in France to have gone
on-line !

We have only one criterion for developing this wine: the best

We create wine by applying a few important quality principles: maceration, pre-fermentation, temperature control, limited use of sulphur, and rigorous hygiene, while being patient, being more and more specialised about ageing the wine in barrels: choosing barrel-makers suited to our wines, stirring the lees, using micro-oxygenation if necessary.

We have a range of three red wines, rounded off by a very fruity Bergerac Rosé.

1. Bergerac Red and Rosé:
unsophisticated wines that bring out the fruitiness, with crispness for the Rosé and fullness for the Bergerac Red. They are to drink young, from one vintage to the next for the Rosé, and within three to four years for the Red.

Distinctions:
• Bergerac Rosé 2004: chosen by the magazine Cooks and Wines of France summer 2005
• Bergerac Rosé 2003: achievements in 2004: one of the best rosé wines of France in Revue des Vins de France (July 2004) and one star in Guide Hachette des Vins 2005.
• Bergerac Rosé 2002: silver medal at the 2003 Independent Wine Growers Competition (Concours des Vignerons Indépendants 2003)
• Bergerac Rosé 2001: bronze medal at the 2001 Independent Wine Growers Competition (Concours des Vignerons Indépendants 2002)

When the grapes are ripe, red wines need precise daily care to be successful: punching down the cap to drive the must into the juice mechanically. This is physical and often reserved for men!

2. Côtes de Bergerac raised in oak barrels: Concentration and expression are the key words for this wine. Tannins are present but supple and, after 10 months of barrel-ageing, still let the fruit express itself. To drink after two years, or keep for six to seven years. Ideal with beef or duck breast!

Distinctions:
•  Côtes de Bergerac 2005 : 16,5 / 20 in the guide « the Best Wines at Small Price 2009 » (RVF)
• Côtes de Bergerac 2001: chosen by Le Petit Futé guide as one of “the best wines of France at less than 8 €”
• Côtes de Bergerac 1999: bronze medal at the 2001 Wines of Bordeaux Competition (Concours des Vins de Bordeaux 2001)

3. La Robertie Haute: Exquisite and concentrated, it comes from one of the best parcels of La Robertie land in terms of maturity. We have only one criterion for making this wine: the best. It is aged for 14 to 16 months in new oak barrels.
This wine expresses itself fully after three to four years, and can be kept for about 10 years.
Suggestion: it goes well with loin of lamb or roasted venison!

Distinctions:
La Robertie Haute 2005 : selected in the review of the Wine of France May 2007 in the great tasting of the red wines of South-west "the Prize list of a great wine area" and gold medal at the 2008 Paris General Agricultural Competition
• La Robertie Haute 2003 : gold medal at the 2005 Independent Wine Growers Competition (Concours des Vignerons Indépendants 2005) -  Hachette des Vins 2006** guide - 'coup de coeur' in review of Wine of France November 2005 for the exhibition of the Vignerons Indépendants
• La Robertie Haute 2002: silver medal at the 2004 Independent Wine Growers Competition (Concours des Vignerons Indépendants 2004)
• La Robertie Haute 2001: silver medal at the 2003 Paris General Agricultural Competition and Hachette des Vins 2004 guide.
• La Robertie Haute 2000: Hachette des Vins 2003 guide.
• La Robertie Haute 1999: Hachette des Vins 2002 guide.

4. Robertie's E's : Exception, Exigency, Excellence
are the major words of this great Robertie wine, which will not be made except for the vintages that deserve it. It is the excellent union of an exceptional vintage and a demanding development. Rich, complex, lingering very long on the palate, it is a wine that keeps for a long time.

Distinctions:
E de la Robertie 2005 : Guide Hachette 2009 - selected in the review of the Wine of France May 2007 in the great tasting of the red wines of South-west "the Prize list of a great wine area".
