Our wines are
regularly honoured in the press and in guides. If you are not
yet convinced of our passion and our efforts to make the wines
that we like, as you like them, too, these quotes are an
external point of view that might guide you.
Nevertheless, our best rewards are the declarations of our
customers! Here a few selections:
“Great admirer of your wines .../... I thank you and still
continue to be enthusiastic about the quality of your wines.”
(A.S. 25/04/2008)
“Your wines are awesome: not only do they disappear very quickly
but, in addition, they are so little appreciated that we are
assailed with demands from the poor people who have tasted them.
In short, here we are constrained and forced to anticipate a
general order.” (D.L. 17/04/2008
"We know your ‘Robertie Haute 2003’ wine well, and we have
already drunk several bottles... it is our favourite wine... it
is fantastic!" (K.D. 20/7/07)
“...The success that your 2003 red has met with my friends
obliges me to continue to be your customer, a very pleasant
obligation!..” (N.B. 18/10/06)
“Thanks to a friend, I discovered your Monbazillac Vendanges de
Brumaire 2002, which I find to be exceptional. All my
congratulations for your remarkable work!...” (A.D. 3/06/2006)
“We want to thank you for your presence and your presentation
when we came to your winery. Our friends were enchanted by your
story, and this tasting will stay in our memories. You knew how
to make us live a little bit of your experience as wine-makers,
and you convinced us that there are still people who love the
Earth and the soil...A successful evening for us!” (M.D.
12/4/06)
“I am very happy to have seen you at the Salon at Rennes. I
noticed that you have lost none of your quality. On the contrary,
like the wine, it is better and better as years go by. Bravo for
the innovations. Robertie’s E left me speechless. The rest of
the collection is splendid, and will not stay on my racks for a
long time...” (C.L 7/4/06)
“Thank you very much for your invitation...I like the wine I
bought last year a lot.” (T.L. 2/2/05)
“Just a word to tell you with what pleasure we tasted a bottle
of Bergerac dry white aged in oak barrels. It went well with a
first course of prawns, followed by fish in sauce.
Congratulations for your know-how" (P.C. 28/11/04)

We are in the
new Bettane and Desseauve guide and in the Revue du Vin de
France guide since 2005.
“Owners of La Robertie since 1999, Brigitte and Jean-Philippe
Soulier have made a model career. They give a perfect picture
of a successful appellation wine.
Carefully converted into wine, the wines in three colours are
ripe, expressive and concentrated, delicate, without artifice.
The 2005 vintage is a great success.”
We have been
in the Hachette Wine Guide since 2002.
“After restructuring the vineyard as soon as they moved in, in
1999, this year Brigitte and Jean-Philippe Soulier embarked on
the conversion to organic agriculture. They sign this vintage
“E” - E, as in exception, exigencies, excellence as indicated
on the back label. The goal is attained.
Clothed in red with deep purple highlights, this 2005 presents
an elegant nose of plum, fruit compote and blueberry. Fruit,
matter, balance, length: the mouth continues to enchant us.
Woodiness is discreet and witness to perfectly mastered ageing.
A wine already ready, but which could age for several more
years.”
We are
regularly in the guide "The Best Inexpensive Wines" ("Les
meilleurs vins à petits prix") published by the RVF.
Côtes de Bergerac 2005 : 16.5/20
In this highly mature vintage, the chateau’s first vintage
made of 95 % Merlot, is a real treat. The combination of ripe,
concentrated fruit with high-quality ageing make it a
delightful wine, full, with great length.
Don’t miss it...
Côtes de Bergerac 2004 : 14.5/20 Nice tannic and pretty development for this sweet and
seductive 2004. Ideal to be drunk in the year.
Monbazillac 2005: 14.5/20
A very classic “moelleux” with a heavy Semillon influence.
In this mature vintage, this wine offers an intense expression
of sun-ripened grapes. A delicious treat!
Revue du
Vin de France – May, 2007
“BERGERACOIS
Head for the top of the line”
La Robertie Haute 2005
“Nose with woody notes, full and flavourful mouth enhanced by
smooth, flavourful tannin. Good quality on the whole, long
finale. Lovely, complete wine, modern and nicely made.”
Thuriès
Gastronomie Magazine – Dec., 2006
Monbazillac Vendanges de Brumaire 2002
“The property, which the Soulier family took up in 1999,
collects awards. It favours us with a distinguished, light amber
wine. The bouquet is intense, clean-cut, toasty, enhanced with
notes of ripe pineapple and noble wood. Excellent balance,
slightly acid liqueur, lasting aftertaste with crystallized
orange. A superb vintage with a future.”
Cuisine et
Vins de France – November, 2006
“Go Bergerac!”
“Along with her husband Jean Philippe, who is as new a wine
maker as she is, Brigitte Soulier has been fascinated by the
craft since 1999. They make wines that they like to drink, by
letting the fruit express itself. The fruity Bergerac 2004 is
happily refreshing, that of the Côtes de Bergerac “E de la
Robertie 2003”, is dazzling with elegance.
“Brigitte Soulier is proud to convert non-readers with the
book (1). She finds pleasure in creating desire by selling the
wines that she makes at Château La Robertie with her husband,
Jean Philippe.”
