Gerard and
Nathalie Cuisset settled into Château les Miaudoux in 1986.
The densely planted vineyard is located on the sunny slopes in
the Saussignac appellation area.
They pay particular attention to the environment because they
have chosen to convert their vineyard into an organic
agricultural exploitation.
Since their settling in, their efforts have been directed at
creating exceptional wines, starting with:
* mastering vine growing: working the soil, organic
cultivation
* achieving limited yields: removing excess buds, green
harvesting
* carefully harvesting and selecting grapes: removing excess
foliage, hand-picking and sorting
At the moment of wine-making, our land gives birth to original,
authentic wines whose type and quality are noticeable.
* for Dry, Rosé, and Mœlleux: pellicular maceration, temperature
control, ageing on fine dregs.
* oak-barrel vintages: harvesting highly ripe grapes and
selecting the harvest according to its aptitude for ageing,
maturing in new barrels 10 months for dry wines, 12 months for
red wines.
* Saussignac: harvesting by hand with successive sorting in
order to pick the best botrytis, fermentation and ageing in
barrels for 16 to 18 months. A third of the barrels are replaced
each year.
