The
vineyard has south-southwestern exposure. It benefits from
the southwestern climate, the warmth of the sun and the
coolness of the Dordogne River. Château les Gérales works
about 15 hectares of vines in the Bergerac and Monbazillac
appellations.
The red grape varieties are mostly Merlot, along with Cabernet
franc.
The white grape varieties are a combination, mostly Sémillon
and partly Sauvignon,
The soil is clay-limestone.
It is cultivated at a density of about 5000 plants per
hectare.
Growing method: Alternating rows of cultivated vines and
ground cover, excess leaves are removed at the end of the year
to expose the grapes further. |
