Cultivation and Harvesting
Harvesting is manual or mechanical according to the way the
wine will be developed.
Grape varieties: Merlot 70% - Cabernet franc 30%
Manual removal of excess leaves allows the grapes to mature
better, and gives this red wine its delicate, fruity perfume.
Wine Making
The harvest is gathered, sorted, destemmed. Juice and grapes
are steeped for several days, traditional wine making.
Tasting – Aging
Bergerac red is a wine of character, typical of our region,
very fruity with fragrances of red fruit and sometimes of
candied fruit. It has a lovely ruby colour and a good length
in the mouth.
An elegant, pleasant wine, which can be drunk now or when it
is older.
This is a wine that gains with aging in a good cellar, around
10 years, according to the vintage.
How to Drink It
When it is brought to room temperature (17 to 18° C), it
accompanies meat, game, duck, certain fish, and cheeses. It
can be drunk all year long, in summer (13 to 15° C) as well as
in winter (17 to 18° C). |
