RIVERSIDE MUSEUM : LA MAISON DU FLEUVE
A COUNTRYSIDE BLESSED BY WATER, BY WINE, BY HISTORY
The riverside museum, La Maison du Fleuve, houses the Museum of River Transport and the Wine-Growers of Montravel’s Cellar. The late 18th century, riverside building provides the perfect setting for exhibitions and for preserving memories of the river.

RELIVING THE STORY OF THE RIVER TRADERS
The life of the men who journeyed up and down the Dordogne River transporting goods in their ‘gabares’ is beautifully recounted at La Maison du Fleuve :
• A wonderful collection of model boats, from upstream Dordogne to the ocean.
• A diorama depicting the port during the late 19th century.
• Rigging, poop and forecastle, documents, maps, and diverse nautical objects.
• The transformation of river activities and river tourism.
• Wine-growers’ cellar, barrels etc.
