  Agriculture
Lalinde is part of a traditionally polycultural region (cereals, dairy products) where tobacco predominates in the alluvial soils of the valley.

Artisans
The majority of artisans in the Lindois region work for small family businesses.
The building industry is particularly well represented.

Shops
Local shops do especially brisk trade on the two weekly market days :
• Thursday morning : a large number of market traders.
• Saturday morning : a farm market with local producers.
The Lindois population enjoy a fine choice from Lalinde’s wide range of shops.

Industry

The largest local industry, which forms part of the Ahlstrom Paper Group and employs 160 people, is the Sibille paper mill at Rottersac. (The mill produces note paper, food wrappers etc.)
Polyrey, part of the International Paper group, employs 501 people in a laminated wood and plastics factory in the neighbouring commune of Baneuil.

Tourist Industry
The tourist industry is booming thanks to Lalinde’s prime location.

• Situated on the Bergerac-Sarlat road, at the entrance to the ‘Périgord Noir’, Lalinde is a busy thoroughfare whose hotels and restaurants are always busy.
• ‘Green’, country tourism is in full expansion thanks to the Dordogne River, the beautiful, surrouding countryside and the easy mix of farms and rural heritage (Gallo-Roman remains etc.).
