Douville, situated in the canton of Villamblard, is crossed by the N21 road. It has a surface area of 1991 hectares and a population of 416.

Etymology :
Domaine de Dodo : a Frank chieftain named Dodo in Aquitaine was duly noted in Rome in the 8th century. (J.P. Bordier)

 

     
 

The commune of Douville includes a number of villages such as St Marnet and Pont St Marnet where the minister, Paul Faure, was born and buried.

In 1853, 50kg of truffles were picked in the commune.
