The Community of Communes’ objective is development, and solidarity among its member communes. With this goal in mind, it suggests that the communes pursue the activities described below.

Mandatory Projects

• Space Development
-Coordination and financing of studies necessary:
- to develop communal maps for all the communes of the Community of Communes,
- to develop communal decontamination plans for the communes of the Community of Communes not having these documents (Cause de Clérans, Liorac/Louyre, Pezuls, Pressignac-Vicq, St Agne, St Félix de Villadeix, Ste Foy de Longas, St Marcel du Périgord, Verdon).

- Acquiring land reserves for economic purposes, where the surface is greater than 5 000 m2 or having at least three lots.

•Economic Development Actions

-Developing tourism by participating in the financing of the Lindois Country Tourist Bureau and the Bastide Country Tourist Development Agency,

- Creating, installing, maintaining and managing new Community zones for economic purposes, where the surface is greater than 5 000 m2 (beginning January 1, 2006).

- Economic promotion by participating in actions engaged on the communal level or concerning our area, in cooperation with consular organizations or partners participating in this domain.


Optional Projects

•Social Actions

Since January 1, 2007, the Entre Dordogne et Louyre Community of Communes has administered the “Social Services” activities. Thus the work is performed by the Mixed Syndicate for Social Welfare (Syndicat Mixte d’Action Social (SMAS)) of Lalinde. The SMAS finances the work of the Intercommunal Social Services Centre (Centre Intercommunal d’Action Social (CIAS)).



Additional Projects

• Developing, enhancing (guide, charts, signposting) and maintaining Grande Randonnée hiking trails located on the Community of Communes’ territory.

• Participating in the construction of a gymnasium in the commune of Lalinde, in relation to the number of inhabitants of the Community of Communes who use this equipment, and its use by Lalinde College students.

• Participating in the realization of studies aimed at learning the area’s current situation regarding defending the forest against fire, apart from the activities currently carried out by Liorac ASA DFCI.

• Project to complete a river contract in the context of the Lower Dordogne River currently being worked out under the auspices of the Greater Bergerac area and Libourne area.
The Community of Communes will define and participate in long-term programs for riverbank, river, and waterway maintenance.
The Community of Communes has the jurisdiction to conclude a river contract.
According to the decision of the community council, the Community of Communes can participate in the implementation of studies and works relating to the hydrology of basins outside the projects of the Lalinde Canal Intercommunal Syndicate and the Intercommunal Syndicate for the Improvement, Maintenance, and Development Works of the Louyre Basin.

• Realizing studies or diagnoses making it possible to develop community leisure and tourist facilities, outside the projects of the Lalinde Canal Intercommunal Association.

• Within the limits of its scope of activities and within conditions defined by a market agreement with each interested commune that so requests, the Community of Communes can assure missions of market service, of studies, or management of services. Each intervention is billed according to the conditions specified by the agreements.

• Entre Dordogne et Louyre Community of Communes contributes to the area’s cultural activities by directly implementing activities and/or by financially supporting associations that offer activities.
Note that school associations can benefit from financial contributions. In this circumstance, the Community of Communes receives a subsidy from the Dordogne General Council for actions in rural settings.
