Built
during the 14th century,
the Château de Monsac is situated between Bergerac and Sarlat
in the heart of 'bastide country'.
The history of the château merges with that of the region:
English, French, Hugenots, Catholics, revolutionaries and
royalists have all, at one moment or another, battled for
their cause around the château.
A young couple have recently bought
the fourteen-hectare property
which today provides accommodation for visitors.
